Legacy Publishing Company realized they were onto something after James Lehman’s article, Giving Kids Consequences that Work, appeared in their online magazine, Empowering Parents. To date, the article is the most widely read in the award-winning magazine’s history, and has been emailed and commented upon close to a thousand times by readers all over North America.

In The Complete Guide to Consequences, noted child behavioral therapist James Lehman, MSW gives advice to parents based upon the principles he developed in the hugely popular Total Transformation® Program. “My goal was to first show how parents use consequences ineffectively, so they could see why their kids might be tuning them out. Then we teach them the simpler, more effective responses—logical consequences that really work.”
The DVD features video role-plays of parents and children involved in typical confrontational situations, including refusal to get out of bed, verbal abuse, back talk, cursing, non-compliance with curfew, refusal to do chores, and more. In it, James Lehman shows parents how to give effective consequences to their children—even kids who don’t seem to care, no matter what parents do or say.
